2020/4/15 - Patch v5.0
The time has come, the moment is here. BTA v5.0 (aka What Took You So Long Edition) has been released. This release has some bug fixes and a few balance changes (check documentation over on the nexus for more info about all that I'm not going into it here) but more importantly, this release marks two milestones: first, this is the release of the long-anticipated Clan update; second, this marks the release of the new BTA installer, which will make installation of BTA easier than ever before.
First though, the Clans. This release includes an optional Clan component that will add the entire Inner Sphere map, with maybe a dozen new factions including three Clans for you to fight. It contains more than 40 new Clan chassis, dozens of new weapons (rebalanced to be less absurd but still powerful and fun), and has plenty of challenge for you to enjoy (Clans spawn in stars, good luck with that). Oh, and there's an UrbanMech IIC out there too, just in case you were wondering.
Second, the Installer. So, on the Nexus, there's only 1 file, the installer. It contains everything you need, including the CAB. There are detailed directions on the main mod description page, as well as a link to a youtube video about how the installer basically works, see those if you need details, but it's really not complicated to use. Warning: your first installation will take awhile as the installer builds its cache, this is normal. Just save the cache and you'll be fine.
IMPORTANT: v5.0 is a clear and reinstall update. Clear out Mods, reinstall BTA (using the installer it should be easy as pie), and you're set to go. The installer auto-updates the CAB and injects Modtek for you. IMPORTANT: v5.0 requires HBS BT patch 1.9.1. Update to that version before installing BTA v5.0.
