A Dish Served Cold - Aftermath

The following is a brief summary and an explanation of what requirements you need to meet in order to get the event to fire. Further details are provided but they contain spoilers. Don't read them unless you really want to know exactly what happens in the event.

Event #2a in the A Dish Served Cold event chain.

Max thanks you for assisting him.

As you return to your quarters following the operation, Max catches you in the hallway.

"Commander. I just wanted to thank you again for agreeing to help, to put the company on the line for me. I'll never forget what you did for me as long as I live."

Option A - (Requirement: A Dish Served Cold mission failed) "Continue conversation.":

"I know you fought as hard as you could for...for my honor. For my family's honor. I shouldn't have expected you to come out on top versus Clanners, and I'm sorry for that."

Result:

  • Max gains Low Spirits for 180 days


Option B - (Requirement: A Dish Served Cold mission succeeded - Max did not call his mom) "Continue conversation.":

"I wish I could have been there to see the light go out of that bastard's eyes. I wish I could have felt you grind their cockpits to dust. I think my father's and brother's ghosts will finally be silent."

Max turns away, a haunted look in his eyes.

Some time later you hear that Max has started drinking more heavily. Might be worth keeping an eye on him.

Result:

  • Max gains pilot tags: Drunk, Restless, and Unstable
  • Max's Gunnery and Guts stats increase by 1
  • Max gains High Spirits for 180 days


Option C - (Requirement: A Dish Served Cold mission succeeded - Max called his mom) "Continue conversation.":

"I think my father and brother can finally rest easy. I'm glad I didn't ask you to kill the Clanners in cold blood. Defeating them in battle was enough... anything more would have been beneath me, and dishonored the memory of my family."

"I'm glad you feel that way, Max. I'm glad we could help put their ghosts to rest."

Result:

  • Max gains pilot tag: Dependable
  • Max's Piloting and Tactics stats increase by 1
  • Max gains High Spirits for 300 days
