It's (not) a Man's Man's Man's World
The following is a brief summary and an explanation of what requirements you need to meet in order to get the event to fire. Further details are provided but they contain spoilers. Don't read them unless you really want to know exactly what happens in the event.

Face's history in the Magistracy Armed Forces creates some issues.

Face knocks on your door one evening looking troubled: "Commander, there's something I need to tell you now we're in MAF territory. I wasn't discharged, I went AWOL. There's an open MIM warrant on me, and it's probably only a matter of time before they find me here.
Do you have any idea what it's like to be male in the Magistracy? The nobility treats you little better than breeding stock and even among your peers you're constantly being sized up like a slab of beef. If by some miracle you do manage to earn a promotion, everyone in your cohort assumes you just slept your way to the position. It's exhausting, humiliating, and I just couldn't take it. So, I ran. "

Option A - "The Magistracy has always accepted donations in lieu of service. Just buy your way out with your wages.":
After negotiating with the MIM Department of Military Justice, you work out a deal for Face to contribute a sizable portion of his salary to the Magistracy in exchange for clearing the desertion charge. He isn't happy about how much they're taking, but it's certainly better than a military prison, even a Canopian one.
Result:
- Face gains Low Spirits for 90 days
Option B - (Requirement: Company has at least 50,000 C-Bills) "You return to serve out an abbreviated term. We'll contribute the "fees" involved in clearing the charges.":
After contacting the MIM Department of Military Justice, it becomes apparent that the Magistracy Armed Forces would be all too happy to forget Face's desertion in exchange for a modest administrative fee, provided Face immediately commits to a short term of service.
The MAF is clearly more concerned with putting Face's experience as a mercenary to good use than with any kind of punishment: rather than being sent to some backwater, he is to report to the new Canopian Institute of War on Canopus IV to teach an Advanced Unorthodox Tactics course to the current cohort of recruits. Who knows, he might even learn a thing or two while there.
Result:
- Company C-Bills reduced by 50,000
- Face loses tag: Disgraced
- Face gains 9000 pilot XP
Option C - (Requirement: Argo upgrades Mech Bay 2 and Med Bay 2 unlocked) "We offer the MAF temporary use of some of our advanced facilities.":
With two entire regiments deployed to the St. Ives region, the MAF is stretched thinner than usual. Pirates and raiders have been hitting civilian and lightly defended military targets, and the MAF appreciated the offer of logistical support. For the price of a little of Yang's elbow grease and a few beds in the medbay, they were more than willing to clear Face of all charges. Even better, the Canopian rep was duly impressed with our professionalism and dedication to doing the right thing.
Result:
- Company Mech Tech skill reduced by 4 for 30 days
- Company Medical skill reduced by 4 for 30 days
- Canopian faction reputation increased by 3
- Face loses tag: Disgraced
- Face gains High Spirits for 30 days
Option D - (Requirement: Reputation with Magistracy of Canopus 50 or higher) "We ask our Magistracy Rep to smooth this over.":
Given the the good relationship we have with the Magistracy, our Rep was able call in enough favors to convince the MIM and MAF that Face has more than fulfilled his obligations to the Magistracy through his mercenary service and drop the desertion charge. She wasn't happy about it though, and stressed that this is the last time we can expect any special treatment from her.
Result:
- Canopian faction reputation decreased by 3
- Face loses tag: Disgraced
