Description

Though it was largely considered a failure, the primitive Phoenix lived on though in distant periphery militias who were desperate for any war material they could get. It even spawned upgrades among the smaller Periphery powers, such as this, the PX-1KC. The -1KC drops the PPC and two heat sinks for an Autocannon/5 with a ton of ammo. It resolves the heat issues at the cost of pure ammo dependency. It, along with its brethren, found acceptance throughout the Periphery.

It even spawned upgrades among the smaller Periphery powers, such as this, the PX-1KL. The -1KL drops the PPC and both SRM-2s for a Large Laser and SRM-6 combo. Though it doesn't really solve the heat issue, it does provide solid firepower on a budget. It, along with its brethren, found acceptance throughout the Periphery.

It even spawned upgrades among the smaller Periphery powers, such as this, the PX-1KR. The -1KR drops the PPC for a Heavy Rifle. This, while powerful, was not received well by pilots and is largely disdained. It, along with its brethren, found limited acceptance throughout the Periphery.

It even spawned upgrades among the smaller Periphery powers, such as this, the PX-1KT. The -1KT drops the PPC for a Thunderbolt-10 launcher. This is a weird confluence of primitive and cutting-edge technology and is the best of the primitive Phoenix variants, weakened only by the fact that Thunderbolt launchers are somewhat rare and hard to source. It, along with its brethren, found acceptance throughout the Periphery.

Description

The old primitive Phoenix is a mech of its time: old, slow, fragile, and underpowered. However, because it was so simple (compared to modern mechs) it made a great option for Periphery manufacturers to reproduce on the cheap. The PX-1PA is one of their results. The left shoulder retains the -1R's pair of SRM-2s while the right arm carries a RL-40 with an attached ammo feed, giving the mech an unexpected punch. Finally, a trio of jump jets help supplement the design's low ground speed from the Primitive engine.

Description

The Phoenix was the Rim Worlds Republic's first effort to design a jump-capable BattleMech patterned after the Terran Hegemony's Wasp. The primitive Phoenix, despite House Amaris' best efforts, was an unfortunate machine. Slow, with limited jump capacity, and with heat issues if it alpha striked, the Phoenix was not well received in its original form. Eventually, the Rim Worlds engineers got the mech right but it took decades of effort. The primitive Phoenix lived on though in distant periphery militias who were desperate for any war material they could get.

Description

Though the Phoenix fell with House Amaris, like the mythical bird it was reborn in the 3060s with the Rim Collection after its plans were discovered in a long-forgotten bunker. Among those plans were proposed upgrades to the design that never saw use. The Rim Collection analyzed the upgrades and decided to enact them, starting with the PX-3N, a simple Star League tech upgrade. Armed with an ER PPC and a quartet of Streak SRM-2s, the PX-3N proved adept if unimpressive, and took its place as the core of the Rim Collection's budding military force.

Among those plans were proposed upgrades to the design that never saw use. The Rim Collection analyzed the upgrades and decided to enact them, forming the PX-4N, a simple tech upgrade of the PX-4R. Built on an Endo-Steel skeleton and armed with a LB-10X Autocannon and a Streak SRM-4, the PX-4N proved adept if unimpressive, and took its place as the core of the Rim Collection's budding military force.

Description

Though the Phoenix did come back into production in the 3060s after being rediscovered by the Rim Collection, there are still rare examples of original-production models kicking around the Periphery. Periphery Arms, Inc. decided to start buying them up and retrofitting them with modern components and sensibilities, leading to the PX-3PA. Armed with a Large Chem Pulse Laser as well as 10 total SRM tubes (mounted in the left shoulder turret, of course), the -3PA makes a surprisingly dangerous design on the modern battlefield.

Description

Though the Phoenix fell with House Amaris, like the mythical bird it was reborn in the 3060s with the Rim Collection after its plans were discovered in a long-forgotten bunker. The Rim Colection decided to perform experimental upgrades on several of their Phoenixes, including this one, the PX-6X. Armed with the best technology the Collection could buy from House Steiner, the PX-6X uses a Bombast Laser for primary firepower and a quartet of turret-mounted Magshots for backup. A 300-rated XL engine powers the design while 6 jump jets give excellent mobility. The design is rounded out by two Coolant Pods to manage the laser's heat and a Bloodhound Active Probe for extra utility.
