Description

A militarized BattleMech version of Achernar's Loader King IndustrialMech, the Roughneck is a low-cost heavy 'Mech intended for price conscious buyers such as planetary militias and down-on-their-luck mercenary units. Featuring a mixed if short ranged weapons loadout, the Roughneck's primary weapons are an AC/10 and SRM-4 in its torsos, supported by a trio of Machine Guns and a head-mounted Small Laser. While tying it to supply lines, two tons of SRM and autocannon rounds provide adequate field endurance, only a ton and a half of rounds supporting three machine guns run dry quickly.

Description

A militarized BattleMech version of Achernar's Loader King IndustrialMech, the Roughneck is a low-cost heavy 'Mech intended for price conscious buyers such as planetary militias and down-on-their-luck mercenary units. The Roughneck-1B swaps the AC/10 of the -1A for an AC/5 and upgrades the missiles to a pair of SRM 6 racks. The Small Laser and two of the Machine Guns are retained.

The Roughneck-3A is an advanced technology version of the Roughneck that makes heavy use of Double Heat Sinks to power an all-energy loadout of 2 PPCs, 4 Medium Lasers, and a solitary Small Laser. 18 Double Heat Sinks keep the mech nice and cool.

Description

Created as a field-refit of the Roughneck by a backwater militia force that was strapped for cash but had some damaged Roughnecks laying around, the Roughneck-4A is a strange indirect-fire version of the mech. The militia couldn't get any large autocannons for their Roughnecks so they instead opted for a pair of Mech Mortar/4s. Given that they had the mortars, they stuffed a LRM 10 in for more indirect capability. For close range defense, the -4A carries a pair of Flamers, a pair of Medium Lasers, and a single Small Laser. The speed and armor are unchanged.

Description

Developed through the late 3040s and early 3050s by Vandenberg Mechanized Industries with the assistance of Davion defectors from Achernar BattleMechs, the RGH-4T was initially planned to be a replacement to the aging Talos, making use of technologies rediscovered through the Helm Memory Core. Before it could enter production however, the Talos itself received the 2B upgrade and the RGH-4T was deemed too expensive to become the workhorse of the TDF. Continued development of the 4T saw several of the advanced technologies replaced by components that could be produced locally and the final prototype approved for manufacturing had become a heavy Urban Combat platform. Even after the compromises made in development, production numbers remained small until VMI developed the ability to produce the Core and Inferno SRMs in-house. The 4T features a 305-rated Core, EndoSteel structure, an AC/10, an SRM6 with Inferno missiles and four Flamers.

Description

One of two arena designs of the militarized loadermech that is the Roughneck, the Powerhouse is just that. Armed with a seeming grab-bag of weaponry, the Powerhouse has proven time and again its brutal efficiency in the arenas. Two each LB-5X Autocannons, SRM-6s, and Medium Pulse Lasers give the Powerhouse firepower at any range while an MRM-10 supplements the short-range punch.
