A Dish Served Cold
The following is a brief summary and an explanation of what requirements you need to meet in order to get the event to fire. Further details are provided but they contain spoilers. Don't read them unless you really want to know exactly what happens in the event.
Summary:
Event #1 in the A Dish Served Cold event chain.
Max talks to you about an opportunity for revenge.
Event Trigger Requirements:
- Commander is uninjured
- Commander has 23,000 XP or more spent in their skill tree
- The Argo is in a system controlled by Clan Wolf
- Max is a member of the crew
- There is at least one other MechWarrior on the roster other than Max who is uninjured
Event Details:

Max knocks at your cabin, looking agitated, hand wrapped in a bloody bandage:
"Commander. You know I lost most of my family when the Wolves invaded in '52 and wiped out my town? So there I was, reading my datastream mess hall, and up pops the Star Commander and the unit that led the attack. They're right here down on the planet, and I intend to issue a batchall. It's the only thing I can do to avenge my father and brother."
He continues with a pained look in his eyes: "Now Doc says I mangled my trigger finger clenching the knife. I didn't even realize I was holding it. Last I spoke to my mother, she was worried for me; thinks I'm consumed by vengeance. I'm not stupid, I get that I'm in bad shape, but I can't let this go either. Commander, will you take this fight for me?"

Option A - "Help Max get revenge.":
"We'll drop as soon as we're ready, Max. Your family will soon rest a little easier. I know it's frustrating not being able to sit in the cockpit yourself, but you say the word and those Clanners are paste."
A contract named "A Dish Served Cold" has been added in the Command Center. Max will eventually leave if you do not take the contract.
Result:
- Max gains 2 injuries
- Duo Duel mission "A Dish Served Cold" added to contract list
Note:
- Choosing this option and completing the duel unlocks another event called "A Dish Served Cold - Aftermath".
- After 15 days there is a chance that another event called "A Dish Served Cold - Failure" will occur if you haven't completed Max's mission by then.
Option B - "Help Max get revenge, but have him call his mother.":
"We'll drop as soon as we're ready, Max. You should talk to your mother first, though. She's the only family you have left."
"I will. And Commander? Thank you."
"Don't worry about it. I know it's gotta be frustrating not being able to sit in the cockpit, but you give the word, and we'll take those Clanners down."
A contract named "A Dish Served Cold" has been added in the Command Center. Max will eventually leave if you do not take the contract.
Result:
- Max gains 2 injuries
- Duo Duel mission "A Dish Served Cold" added to contract list
Note:
- Choosing this option and completing the duel unlocks another event called "A Dish Served Cold - Aftermath".

Option C - "Deny his request.":
"I'm sorry Max. If we go chasing after every Clanner that wronged us in the past, we'll never have time to for actual, paying contracts. You're free to go on your own time, on your own dime, but the company can't afford to get involved."
"Understood, Commander."
Not long after, Max fails to show up for muster. You can guess where he's gone. Whether he'll make it back is another question.
Result:
- Max becomes unavailable until after the event "A Dish Served Cold - Rescue" is resolved.
- Max gains 2 injuries
Note: 7-21 days after choosing this option a new event called "A Dish Served Cold - Rescue" will occur.
