Revision as of 18:21, 7 February 2022

Battletech Advanced 3062 currently features 8 Battle Armor variants.

Features

  • Battle Armor is a set of incredibly light-weight (relative to a 'Mech) power armor that can mount a variety of BA-scale weaponry. Like 'Mechs BA can be modified in the mech bay and fitted out as you'd like, you are not limited to stock configs.
  • Although Battle Armor comes in units of up to six troopers, only one pilot is required to use the unit. Be aware that BA is quite fragile and your pilots will get injured a lot while piloting Battle Armor.
  • A Battle Armor start has been included at career start if you're interested in a challenge.
  • Battle Armor are distinguished between those with battle claws and those with mag clamps. Both options allow BA to ride on friendly APCs and OmniMechs. When this happens, the BA suit vanishes and moves along with the unit they're riding. They can then dismount on a later turn. Battle Armor riding on units can be damaged by incoming attacks so be careful with them, they're fragile. Mounting/dismounting does not use their action, so they can dismount and immediately act by moving and attacking.
  • Only Battle Armor with battle claws can mount enemy mechs in a swarm attack. While swarm attacking, BA get to fire all their weapons, they will all hit, and they will hit a single focused location (you do not get to choose the location) but cannot shoot at anything other than the unit they're swarming. BA can still be hit by weapons fire while swarming.

Availability

Most Battle Armor can be salvaged from missions in urban biomes where they appear randomly as ambushers or purchased in faction/system stores depending on the variant. The type of BA that appears in ambushes depends on the mission skull ratings:

Skull Rating BA Variant
0.5 - 2 Achilles, Asterion, IS Standard, Rottweiler, Salamander
2.5 - 3.5 Achilles, Gnome, Infiltrator Mk. II, Phalanx, Void, Ying Long
4 - 5 Grenadier, Fa Shih, Kanazuchi, Marauder, Phalanx, Raiden, Ravager, Tengu
