The following is a brief summary and an explanation of what requirements you need to meet in order to get the event to fire. Further details are provided but they contain spoilers. Don't read them unless you really want to know exactly what happens in the event.

Summary:

Darius contacts you with an opportunity to nab some Clan salvage from a convoy.

Event Trigger Requirements:

  • Reputation with Clan Ghost Bear at -10 or lower
  • Reputation with Clan Wolf at -10 or lower
  • The Argo is in a system controlled by Clan Jade Falcon
  • You have not had a Freelancing event (Home Is Where the MechBay Is, Cannonball Run, Gone Fishing) against Clan Jade Falcon trigger in the last 90 days

Darius calls you into the Command Center. Seems he has an interesting proposition:

"Commander, we've identified a significant shipment of freshly manufactured Jade Falcon BattleMechs on their way to a distribution hub. This could be a golden opportunity for us to hit the clanners and walk away with an armload of their tech. No employers, no contracts... just us walking off with whatever we can carry. What do you say?"

Option A - "Look over the op details.":

"Sound like a decent idea, XO. What are we looking at?"

"Basically just a standard convoy ambush, but with the twist that the only one paying us, is us. It's a salvage-only op, so we need to minimize damage and maximize our salvage. It's also worth mentioning that the active Clans in this AO absolutely hate each other. The only thing Clanners respect is force and skill on the battlefield. Hitting one hard might increase our standing with the others."

A contract named Freelancing: Cannonball Run has been added to the Command Center."

"It's not a bad idea, but I don't want to piss off the clanners too much just yet. Not without someone else footing the bill at least."
