Devil's Dues
The following is a brief summary and an explanation of what requirements you need to meet in order to get the event to fire. This event's requirements are spoiler tagged as they involve a decision being made in another Optio event in order for this one to occur. Further details are provided but they contain spoilers. Don't read them unless you really want to know exactly what happens in the event.

Event Trigger Requirements:
WARNING: MINOR SPOILERS
- Reputation with Marian Hegemony -25 or lower OR 40 or higher
- Company has at least 500,000 C-Bills
- Optio is a member of the crew
- Took Optio up on his offer in the event "Mercenaries, Spies, and Private Eyes"
- You have at least one other MechWarrior other than Optio in your crew
Event Details:

The general quarters alarm rudely jolts you awake as Darius calls you on the intercom.
"Commander, Optio just took one of the shuttles on an unauthorized flight. We won't be able to get the Leopard powered up before we lose him in the system traffic. Orders?"
"Let him go. Nothing we can do anyway."
"Copy that. Appears he left you a message, sir."
Optio's message sits at the top of your inbox:
Salve Commander. I regret that I could not meet with you before I took my leave, but I suspect you know why I had to leave under such clandestine circumstances.

Option A - (Requirement: Reputation with Marian Hegemony -25 or lower) "Message continues.":
I had thought you trustworthy. I had thought you someone that honored their contracts. I see now that I was mistaken. Consider your company personae non gratae within the Hegemony. If you manage to live long enough to reach it.
You feel the dull thud of an explosion rumble through the deck plates as the dull glow of the emergency lighting kicks on. Apparently Optio also left you a parting gift. You grab the intercom: "XO! Damage report!"
"Commander! Yang reports moderate damage to the MechBay, with several casualties. All fires contained. Farah reports a data breach, but has it locked down."
"Well. That should have been predictable."
Result:
- Marian Hegemony faction reputation decreased by 25
- Company C-Bills reduced by 100,000
- Optio leaves the company
- A random MechWarrior in your crew sustains two injuries
- Company Mech Tech Skill reduced by 4 for 30 days
Option B - (Requirement: Reputation with Marian Hegemony 40 or higher) "Message continues.":
Please understand that while I trust you, my legatus is blessed with an abundance of caution. Once I make my final report, I will return with your final payment. I confess, Commander, that I have grown weary of espionage. I long for the simple equations that govern the mercenary life. With your blessing, I would remain under your command and in your employ. My legatus will no doubt insist I remain an Ordo asset outside of the Hegemony, and while I would appreciate it if you did not disabuse them of that notion, ultimately you are my Commander.
