Developed by Alliance Motors at the behest of the Outworlds Alliance, the Gulon is a MiningMech that, thanks to some unique quirks of its own, proved adept as a SecurityMech as well. Powered by a highly-unusual 100-rated fission engine, the Gulon's Mining Drill and Small Laser array proved equally adept at drilling through rock and driving off pirate attacks. The GLN-1A is the original Gulon and comes with a Sprayer and several tanks of fuel which enables it to adapt its loadout somewhat as the situation demands. Clad with industrial-grade armor, the Gulon would go on to have a stellar reputation in the Outworlds outback, where it served with distinction for decades.

The GLN-2A is an up-gunned militarized version of the Gulon that swaps the Fission Engine for an XL Fusion Engine. It uses the extra tonnage to upgrade the Sprayer to a true Fluid Gun, adds more ammunition types for the Fluid Gun, and tacks on some extra armor. The -2A quickly became the favorite of any local miitia that could afford it.

The GLN-2C uses its free weight to swap the Fluid Gun for a MML-5 with both SRM and LRM ammo. It retains the Small Lasers but upgrades one of them to a Medium Laser for extra punch.

The GLN-3A is a fork of the -2A and keeps that mech's XL Fusion Engine. However, the -3A drops the mining drill in exchange for more weaponry, specifically 10 SRM tubes and the traditional trio of Small Lasers. It also increases the engine rating to a 125-rated engine, allowing the -3A to bring its weapons to bear more easily.
