Description

The earliest version used standard heat sinks and its Primitive Engine could only manage 30 km/h. This proved to be a challenge as the early Helepolis needed to completely stop to fire the Sniper artillery and then start moving again before counter-battery fire could destroy the unit. Twenty and a half tons of Primitive Armor protected the Helepolis from enemy fire. The weight and bulk of the primitive systems prevented the designers from installing the long range missiles used on later models.

Description

Designed as the production variant of a unique mercenary Helepolis, nicknamed the Caliente, the Helepolis-2C had a troubled birth. Armed with a Sniper Artillery Piece and an Arrow IV Missile system, both of which pack Inferno ammunition, the -2C and its source Caliente are clearly made to destroy urban, civilian environments. This has led to the mech not receiving many buyers, though it has found a home with the Draconis Combine, whose penchant for waging total war is well known.

Description

While the Helepolis is famous for its Sniper Artillery Piece, it was not the only piece of artillery that the Star League tried on the chassis. An earlier experimental version of the Helepolis carried an Arrow IV system instead of the Sniper. With the extra tonnage saved from removing the Sniper as well as the Large Laser, the HEP-2G also carries a pair of LRM 15s for additional missile support. The close-range Medium Laser and SRM 6 remain in place.

Description

First unleashed by the Terran Hegemony in 2460, the Helepolis is a ponderous BattleMech designed to deliver artillery fire. Following the destruction of the production facilities in 2775, the design was lost during the Succession Wars. The Helepolis is built around a Sniper Artillery Piece. The 'Mech does carry some backup weapons to augment its screening forces, defending itself with a LRM-10 and Large Laser. If an enemy gets close, the MechWarrior can call upon a SRM-6 and a Medium Laser.

Description

Another experimental Star League variant of the Helepolis, the HEP-2I approaches the angle of artillery support from a different angle. Where the HEP-2H carries a Sniper, the HEP-2I instead divides its tonnage into a pair of Thumper Artillery Pieces. For close-range support though, the HEP-2I has only a quartet of Medium Lasers. 4 tons of Thumper ammo keep the dual cannons firing.

Description

Named for the graffiti found on the side of the barrel of its primary weapon, ''Boomstick'' as it came to be called is a monstrous gladiator mech capable of extreme damage against unsuspecting opponents. When a Helepolis walks into the arena, opponents laugh and dismiss it, only for the Sniper Artillery Cannon to blow limbs asunder as the Boomstick rampages forward. The Clan-spec ER PPC and IS-spec Snub-Nose PPC provide that extra sting of insult to injury as Boomstick stands over its defeated foes.

Factions

The HEP-BM can only be found as an enemy duelist in Game Worlds contracts.
