The following is a brief summary and an explanation of what requirements you need to meet in order to get the event to fire. Further details are provided but they contain spoilers. Don't read them unless you really want to know exactly what happens in the event.

Summary:

Geezer and Yang debate the merits of Vlar and GM engine designs.

Event Trigger Requirements:

  • Geezer is a member of the crew
  • Geezer has Tactics 4 or higher
  • Geezer is uninjured

Event Details:


WARNING: SPOILERS

While making the rounds, you come across Geezer in the mech bay, arguing with Yang over the best fusion cores. Before you can sneak out, Geezer calls you over:

"Hey Commander, maybe you can settle an argument for us. What's the best BattleMech engine? Boring-ass Yang here says: "Buy Quality, Buy Vlar blah blah blah." That's a crock of shit. Everyone knows the best engines are made by GM"

"Look, it's just a fact that for reliability in the field it doesn't get any better than a Vlar 300." counters Yang.

"I may be older'n dirt in dog years, but I ain't stuck in the past. General Motors' new 360XXL is a superb piece of engineering." retorts Geezer.

Option A - "Side with Yang":

"Sorry Geezer, but you know what GM stands for: "Got Mechanic?" I'll take reliability in the field."

A little later, Yang stumbles over a crate holding 3 Vlar 300 Fusion Cores with a note from Geezer that reads: "Just cuz they can fit anywhere don't mean you should put them everywhere. But they are pretty good. Just don't ask where I got 'em. If I told ya I'd have ta kill ya!"

Result:

  • Add three Engine Core 300 to inventory

Option B - "Side with Geezer":

"The lighter the engine, the more fun you can have with the rest, Yang. Besides, you know Vlar just means Verified Loser at Racetrack."

A little later, Yang stumbles over a crate holding a GM 360XXL with note from Geezer that just reads: "No hard feelins, bud!"

Yang glances over at you, wondering: "Where the hell does he get this stuff?",

Result:

  • Add one XXL engine to inventory
  • Add one Engine Core 360 to inventory
