Introduced during the FedCom Civil War, this Highlander variant replaces the missiles, medium lasers, and jump jets with two Large Lasers and a Heavy Gauss Rifle. The M-7 Gauss Rifle remains in place.

Description
The Highlander-732 is the original Highlander, built for the Star League's armies. While it is very similar to the later -733, the big change is that the -732 carries a massive Gauss Rifle, giving it devastating ranged power.

Description
The 734 Highlander emphasizes its role as an urban combat 'Mech, produced by the Lyran Alliance in the wake of the civil war. The Gauss Rifle has been replaced with a massive LB-X Autocannon/20, the medium lasers have been upgraded to ER Medium Lasers, the SRM-6 was upgraded to a streak version with another Streak SRM-6 launcher added, as well as an ER Large Laser. Upgrading the standard fusion engine to a new Light Engine and removing the LRM-20 launcher allowed these changes.

This Highlander looks like it's been based off of the HGN-734, but they've somehow managed to wire about three different tech bases together. The composite structure and hardwired prototype jumpjets have to be a custom job, and who knows where the Clan-spec XL and Ferro-Lamellor came from. It jumps like a rabbit, and its Ultra-20 and 80 Reloading Rockets will tear through anything in short order. It's a Highlander with Improved Jump Jets Commander, anything it lands on will be having a very bad day.

Description
Built as a testbed model for the newly created Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle, the HGN-739 proved an able combatant and remain in active production. Built on a Light Fusion Engine and mounting 15 double heat sinks, the -739 carries an eclectic weapon mix. The aforementioned Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle is backed up by a trio of Medium X-Pulse Lasers for close combat and a MRM-30 covers the middle distances. Equipped with the Highlander's standard jump jets and a huge amount of armor, the -739 is a threat at any range.

Description
Rhonda Snord was known for a lot of things: being the daughter of Cranston Snord, being the CO of Snord's Irregulars, being a real bad-ass. But she was also known for this, Heavy Metal, a personalized Highlander. On paper, Heavy Metal appears to be similar to a Royal Highlander from the Star League era: Gauss Rifle, LRM-20, SRM-6, three Medium Lasers. However, the XL 275 engine and the curious addition of 5 hard-wired prototype improved jump jets says otherwise, to say nothing of the death metal screaming from the speakers around the cockpit during combat.

This classic Highlander 732b has clearly been extensively modified, perhaps a transitory model between the Inner Sphere and Clan IIC model? It has been passed through many owners, Clan, ComStar, and mercenary alike, and it bears hallmarks of tinkering by all of them, from the twin Snub Gauss Rifles, Artemis suite missile systems, and ComStar C3 Master electronics. The old name was scratched off the side due to battle damage, but it remains a powerful BattleMech, Commander.
