Description

The Whitworth is something of an ugly duckling, known among both critics and fans as the Whitworthless. However, the Whitworth had a much darker reputation in the old Rim Worlds Republic, where it was used with dark purpose to decimate civilians during Stefan Amaris' reign. His squad of Whitworths, known as the WTH-0, were equipped with SRMs and inferno ammo as well as a Flamer to barbeque innocents who dared have an opinion he disagreed with. The WTH-0 was a favored target of the SLDF during their campaign to defeat Amaris and all of them were said to be destroyed. However, in the 3060s, the Rim Collection discovered the plans for the WTH-0 on an abandoned world and put it back into production to disable pirates that would attack their lands. The WTH-0 proved its worth again and remains in service to this day.

Description

The Whitworth is something of an ugly duckling, known among both critics and fans as the Whitworthless. It was originally produced in 2610 as a BattleMech that was meant to fill the weight gap between the lighter Wasp and the heavier Phoenix Hawk 'Mechs despite being slower than both. Its 8 tons of armor and four reliably jump jets combined with simple no-frills effective firepower to give the Whitwoth plenty of staying power. The Whitworth carries as its primary weapons two LRM-10 launchers with one ton of ammo, one in each side torso. A trio of Medium Lasers rounds out the mech's loadout.

Description

Crafted in the 3060s by the Marian Hegemony, the Whitworth WTH-1H serves as a light support design for the Marian armies. Built off the frame of the WTH-1S, the -1H swaps out one of the SRM-6 launchers and its ammo for a whopping eight Rocket Launcher-10s. It retains the armor, speed, jump jets, remaining SRM-6, and Medium Lasers of the -1S. The -1H proved popular with Marian forces and would also be adopted by pirate forces as a cheap and easy modification to boost firepower.

The original production model of the Whitworth prior to its service in the Star League armies. The two LRM-10 missile launchers are replaced with two SRM-6 launchers and four additional heat sinks, allowing the MechWarrior better heat management capabilities. However since this loadout encourages a close combat approach for which the 'Mech is grossly ill-equipped.

It was originally produced in 2610 as a BattleMech that was meant to fill the weight gap between the lighter Wasp and the heavier Phoenix Hawk 'Mechs despite being slower than both. The WTH-2 Whitworth is a very basic upgrade of the original design introduced in 3050 in response to the Clan invasion. Two Medium Lasers have been removed from the 'Mech and replaced with Artemis IV fire control systems for the LRM-10 launchers making it deadlier at long ranges in exchange for short range defense capabilities.

It was originally produced in 2610 as a BattleMech that was meant to fill the weight gap between the lighter Wasp and the heavier Phoenix Hawk 'Mechs despite being slower than both. This variant of the Whitworth introduced in 3068 upgrades the WTH-1S Whitworth. The chassis has been redesigned to use Endo Steel construction techniques and one of the Medium Lasers have been downgraded to a Small Laser. The SRM-6s were removed and the fourteen single heat sinks were upgraded to ten double heat sinks. The saved weight was used to add four Streak SRM-4 launchers, a C3 Slave Unit, and CASE to protect the 'Mech from ammunition explosions.

Description

Developed by House Kurita in the 3060s as a way to put their newly developed Medium-Range Missile systems to use on a lighter chassis, the Whitworth WTH-2H is a simple and effective design. Armed with twin MRM-10s and including the Apollo Fire Control System the -2H is perfectly capable of bashing apart anything its size or smaller. A trio of reliable Medium Lasers back up the MRMs while a 200-rated engine keeps the -2H humming along at a respectable speed and 5 jump jets keep the mech mobile in any terrain. The -2H proved popular both in the Combine and in the Periphery as a cheap support design.

Description

The Whitworth might be ill-loved in the Inner Sphere, but the Periphery was happy to take the mech in and give it a home. The WTH-2PA is a decidedly Periphery spin on things with two Gyrojet-15s with attached ammo feeds for ranged firepower that exceeds the original Whitworth even. Two Medium Lasers keep things secure against any enemies that under-run the Gyrojets. Prototype Endo-Steel was required to pay the weight of the weapons however.

Description

Often, Whitworths are called ''worthless'' because of an ill-fitting stigma against the design. Knowing that, this arena design was made to redeem the old Whitworth and bring it back into the limelight. Nicknamed The Worthwhile, this mech flips the script on the Whitworth by focusing heavily on energy weapons with only token missile backup. A pair of Clan Large Pulse Lasers give The Worthwhile heavy firepower against anything it faces, while a pair of Rocket Launcher-15s are a nice surprise sucker punch.
