Description

The -23 variant of the Assassin is an upgrade of the original model using Lostech; originally seen as a standardized field modification. The SRM-2 has been removed to upgrade the Medium Laser to a Medium Pulse Laser and an Artemis IV fire control system has been added for the LRM-5 launcher.

Description

The -30 variant of the Assassin was a radical departure from the classic formula for the 'Mech. The chassis was redesigned to utilize Endo Steel construction and the engine upgraded to a Light Fusion Engine. The saved weight was used to upgrade the Medium Laser to an extended range version and the missiles are removed in favor of an LB-X Autocannon/5. Additionally, the armor had been increased by two full tons. Used by the Lyran side of the FedCom Civil War, this design is considered a failure and few of them were ever produced.

Description

A rare brawler variant of the raider Assassin, the -45 was developed by the Draconis Combine to upgrade their old ASN-21s and turn them into formidable light hunters and passable brawlers. The -45 carries a trio of Streak SRM 4s and a pair of Machine Guns, giving the mech a surprising punch for its size. However, that speed and firepower came at a price: the mech has, characteristically for Assassins, terrible armor which combined with its fragile XL engine lead to the design never seeing wide use. Additionally, due to a shortage, the mech does not carry double heat sinks making it prone to overheating in the thick of combat.

Description

Made for the Capellan's Shadow Lances, the Assassin-55 is a surprisingly advanced mech used for a very un-advanced purpose: assassinations. Clad in Stealth Armor and built on a Light Engine and Composite structure, the ASN-55 is built to hunt and kill choice targets. To guarantee the targets die as intended, the ASN-55 can bring 30 Rocket Launcher tubes to bear while a Narc Launcher with Haywire ammo debiliates the target. A pair of ER Medium Lasers provide reliable backup. Sturdy armoring and traditional Assassin speed round out the package.

Description

After an exchange with House Liao led to the Taurian Concordat receiving several warehouses full of Assassin ASN-30s (salvage from House Steiner that the Liaos no longer wanted), the Taurians struggled to figure out what to use them for, eventually settling on the ASN-65 refit. Swapping the -30's Light Fusion Engine for an easier to acquire XL, and adding Light Ferro-Fibrous armor, the Taurians kept the mech's high maneuverability while also squeezing on a Light PPC and twin MML-5 launchers, giving the ASN-65 respectable throw at any range. 10 DHS keep the mech cooled and the armor is as heavy as it can be.

Keeping the top speed of the ASN-21 as well as its base weapon load of missiles, the ASN-101 is a rare Federated Suns variant that drops two jump jets and a half ton of armor to mount a trio of Small Lasers, giving the ASN-101 a much better close-in punch compared to its progenitor.
