Description
The Fafnir was intended to become Defiance Industries of Hesperus' flagship BattleMech. The slow assault design serves as a platform for the pair of 'Thor's Hammers', the brand new Heavy Gauss Rifles, the largest non-artillery 'Mech weapon in existence. The Fafnir can lay out an incredible amount of firepower at extreme ranges, so take it seriously.

Description
After the runaway success of Defiance's Fafnir, the corporation fielded a request from Lyran officials for an indirect support variant of the mech. Defiance came back with this, the Fafnir-6. Armed with a total of 70 LRM tubes, the Fafnir-6 could lay down extreme amounts of supporting fire at great range. Unfortunately, the design ultimately floundered. Although it was just what the Lyrans asked for it turns out that it wasn't doing anything better than, say, a Longbow. Combined with its weak close-range defenses and the Fafnir-6 faded into obscurity.
