Details | Particle Projector Cannons-PPCs-fire streams of energized lightning at their target that deal substantial damage and stability impact. This is not that kind of PPC though. In fact, the Chemical 'PPC' isn't really a PPC at all, just co-opting the name for advertising purposes. In truth, the Chemical 'PPC' is more akin to a plasma rifle in that it fires an energetic projectile at the target, in this case an overcharged energy grenade wrapped in an energy shell for protection on its way to the target. The grenade deals relatively light impact damage as the energy shell bleeds off during transit but the grenade does explode on impact, dealing significant area of effect damage around the initial target. The Chemical PPC found little home in the Inner Sphere, but because the technology required to build one is relatively well understood and not very complicated it found a reasonable home in the Periphery. <color=#ffcc00>Uses Chem PPC Ammo.</color> |
