Description
The original Griffin produced by Maxwell Manufacturing, Inc. weighed sixty tons (thus technically falling into the Heavy category of BattleMechs) and used primitive components. It could reach a top speed of 64 km/h and cover ninety meters with three Jump Jets. It also carried a Prototype PPC and a single LRM-5 with a ton of ammunition. It was protected by fourteen and a half tons of Primitive Armor and equipped with eleven single heat sinks. A Primitive Cockpit was provided for the pilot., The original Griffin produced by Maxwell Manufacturing, Inc. weighed sixty tons (thus technically falling into the Heavy category of BattleMechs) and used primitive components. Description
The GRF-2N-X Super Griffin is an evolution of the Griffin, a redesign that essentially produced a new BattleMech with a different tonnage. Using a heavier 60 ton frame, the Super Griffin used experimental Prototype Improved Jump Jets for increased maneuverability. The extra weight also allowed for the addition of a Medium and Small Laser for added firepower. To control the heat, the Davion engineers installed experimental Freezer Heat Sinks developed by the NAIS. The Super Griffin was largely considered a failure and eventually faded into history.
