| Details | Developed by the Terran Hegemony in 2487, Endo Steel was designed especially for use in BattleMech skeletons. The Terran Hegemony guarded the secrets of Endo-Steel jealously but, as is the way of such things, the technology invariably proliferated out through the Inner Sphere and Periphery. While the original Prototype Endo-Steel would be largely forgotten by the IS, the Periphery would retain the technology and would still produce units with such structure even centuries later.
