Description

Among the earliest ultra-light BattleMechs to enter production, the Stiletto (not to be confused with the much later Lyran light 'Mech) entered service with the Draconis Combine in 2473, ostensibly to counteract the newly developed Lyran Commando. While the idea was sound as the Stiletto was as fast and similarly armored, the 'Mech quickly floundered as the Commando out-gunned its SRM-4 and Small Laser combo. Instead, the Stiletto was repurposed for light recon duties, where it excelled. The Stiletto STL-7D has been in production ever since and is one of the favored lights of the Combine for scouting purposes.

Description

Given its extensive service to the Draconis Combine, the Stiletto found its way into various pirate hands after raids and thefts, many of which went unpunished due to the relatively low value of the chassis in question and the ease of just replacing them outright. Generally, the pirates slapped whatever they could onto the chassis but a popular refit began appearing frequently enough to be given its own designation, the STL-7P. Armed with twin Inferno RL-15s and twin Machine Guns, the 'Mech has almost no endurance but has a surprising bite if enemies disrespect it.

Description

Though an early ultra-light design, the Stiletto proved to have unexpectedly good staying power in the DCMS where it proved popular for garrisons and light scout work. After centuries in service, a DCMS general decided to grant the 'Mech its first upgrade package ever. In light of its extensive service, no expense was spared on the chassis, with the new variant being christened the STL-9K. Powered by its traditional 90-rated engine but upgraded to XL technology and built with the finest Endo-Steel, the -9K mounts a MRM-10 and a Medium Laser, giving it heavy firepower for its size. The new variant proved wildly popular and spread like wildfire through the Combine.

Description

After the rousing success of the STL-9K and its rebuild package, the DCMS decided to expand the Stiletto's production with another variant. This time however, the Stiletto was put to work dealing with civilian uprisings in an increasingly chaotic Inner Sphere. Armed with a SRM-4 still, the Stiletto STL-10K was armed with exclusively Inferno ammo to put down rioting civilians. Thanks to the Endo-Steel frame, the Small Laser was 'upgraded' to a Flamer. Those same troublesome civilians protested that the -10K was essentially a walking warcrime machine, but their pleas fell on deaf ears and the -10K entered production quickly.

Description

This Stiletto has been modified and updated throughout the decades as the ancestral mech of your family in the Deep Periphery. Though the Stiletto is not a common design, it has served the Combine, and incidentally your family, with honor for many generations. Armed with purely energy weapons, a trio of Medium Lasers and a Small Laser to be exact, the Ancestral Stiletto's Endo-Steel bonus permit it to have enough armor to be respectable for its size.

Description

Shortly after the introduction of the Stileto STL-9K, a MechWarrior named Lukas Ione who received one as a reward for good service retired from the DCMS and, somehow, managed to take his 'Mech with him. He found his way to the Gameworld, Solaris VII, and quickly refit his ride to enter into the games. Though his Audiogoth is a fairly conventional ride, it found success in the arenas with its simple battery of five ER Medium Lasers and Ione found popularity as the Mini-Mech Master.
