It's an odd duck and is usually found in the periphery where 'mech parts are rarer and techs make things work that the Inner Sphere doesn't need to deal with. Of course, the parts are all over the place too. The effect is purely visual, the parts are still in the 'right' places in the loadout. This mech is just for fun. |

Description
A somewhat radical departure from the stock Centurion, the CN9-AH Variant trades out the stock AC10 and Medium Lasers for a single AC20. While this amounts to the same degree of firepower, it has the benefit of concentrating the damage to a single location.

Description
The AL variant of the Centurion tends to trade the larger burst damage of an Autocannon for more Energy weaponry and heavier armor. ALs can take an incredible amount of damage for their size but still pack a good punch.

Description
The D variant of the Centurion is the first of many upgrades using Star League technology. The chassis was re-engineered to use Endo Steel construction techniques, the power plant was changed from the standard engine to an GM 300 extralight engine, and the weapons were upgraded. The Autocannon/10 was swapped for a Mydron Excel LB-X Autocannon/10 and an Artemis IV fire control system was added to the LRM launcher while the two Medium Lasers were retained.

Description
The D3D variant of this 'Mech is a potent long-range sniper, first built in 3060. It uses the same chassis and engine combination as the D3 variant but uses MASC to augment its movement to give it a maximum speed of 129.6 kph. The primary weapon on the D3D is a Light Gauss Rifle. For added long range assistance, the 'Mech carries an LRM-10 launcher and for close range combat it carries an ER Medium Laser. This is all protected with eight tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor.

Description
This variant of the Centurion, introduced in 3062, is inspired by the CN9-D and uses the same engine and chassis. The 'Mech uses MASC to allow it bursts of speed reaching up to 129.6 kph while the weapons compliment has been completely removed. In their place the 'Mechs primary weapon is a Rotary Autocannon/5, backed up by two ER medium lasers. To direct this firepower, the 'Mech uses an advanced Targeting Computer and the 'Mech carries a C3 Slave unit to allow it to share targeting data with its lance mates.

Description
Developed by the Marian Hegemony's first 'Mech production plant, this variant uses Primitive technology. Though the larger Primitive Engine takes up more room than a Succession Wars-era model and the nine tons of Primitive Armor don't provide as much protection as the CN9-A model, the LB 10-X AC and quintet of Rocket Launcher 10s provide excellent firepower. A single Medium Laser rounds out the armament. Marian Arms Incorporated and the Alphard Trading Corporation are apparently using this primitive line to boost the Hegemony's technology base., Developed by the Marian Hegemony's first 'Mech production plant, this variant uses Primitive technology. Description
An early prototype of what would later become the Centurion CN9-H, the CN9-PA was designed by the Marian Hegemony with minor aid from Periphery Armory, Inc. Sometimes reported as the CN9-HX and sometimes as the CN9-PA, this mech shares much with the later CN9-H such as rockets and primitive components. However, its main firepower comes from a Medium Rifle and a Mech Grenade Launcher, while a pair of Rocket Launcher 20s and a solitary Medium Laser play backup. The -HX/-PA was quickly outpaced by the -H once the Marians got their production together.

Description
A very weird 'mech, the CN9-S or 'Southpaw' as it's called, appears to be a normal Centurion... that has been flipped on its X axis so that the autocannon is in the left arm.

Description
An upgrade on the original Succession Wars era design, an XL engine has been fitted to free up weight for more weapons. The AC/20 has been replaced with a Gauss Rifle with two tons of ammunition. Three medium pulse lasers - two in the left arm and one in the center torso, replace the old standard ones. Additionally, the left arm Hatchet has been augmented with Triple-Strength Myomer to make a dangerous melee combatant.
