Description

The Longbow-0C is the Primitive Longbow, made with early components before mech technology was well understood. However, the -0C carries respectable firepower for its era, though weak by modern standards. It carries a pair of LRM 20s for ranged bombardment and a pair of Medium Lasers with a Small Laser as close-range backup. In order to maintain a resonable ground speed, the mech carries a large but extremely heavy primitive 310 engine. Description

The Longbow is famous for its missiles. This, the LGB-0H, takes that fame to its logical extreme. The Marian Hegemony 'acquired' some Longbow chassis by completely legal means and, true to form, decided to shove as many Rocket Launchers as possible into the frame, 26 Rocket Launcher-10s to be precise. A pair of PPCs seem like afterthoughts for when the rockets have done their bloody work. Interestingly, the -0H has Double Heat Sinks, the source of which remains unclear.

Description

To add some speed to the Longbow, the OW variant removes two Medium Lasers and five and a half tons of armor. This allowed the 255 Fusion Engine to be replaced with a larger 340, increasing the top speed of the Longbow to 64 km/h, allowing the 'Mech to keep up with most heavy 'Mechs. The -0W is otherwise the same as the -7Q variant.

Description

The Longbow LGB-0W was not a very popular variant of the venerable fire support design, due to giving up a lot of armor for its increased speed. Because of this, the 0W2 field refit was designed. The -0W2 is functionally the same as the -0W, except that it removes a ton of ammunition and the Small Laser and puts the freed weight back into armor. Otherwise, it keeps the 50 LRM tubes and the high ground speed.

The Longbow, introduced in 2480, has seen service in the armies of the Inner Sphere since the days of the Star League and is one of the most well-known fire support 'Mechs in existence. As a fire-support 'Mech though, the Longbow is a trusted and reliable machine that can be counted on to carry out the mission it is designed for. The primary weapons on the Longbow are its LRM launchers, four in all, a pair of 20s and a pair of 5s, letting the Longbow put out 50 LRMs into any target it can see.

Description

The 7V variant of the Longbow upgrades the design to more modern specifications. The 'Mech is powered by an XL engine that weighs half as much as the original engine. The 'Mech also removes the two LRM-5 launchers and adds Artemis IV to the LRM-20 launchers, and CASE for added protection. For close combat, the 7V has 5 Medium Pulse Lasers. To add a little more long range firepower, the 7V has also has an ER Large Laser.

Description

The Longbow-8Q is an arena update to the old Longbow-7Q. Where that mech used LRMs for its fire support role, the -8Q switches to a combination of Thunderbolt 10 and Thunderbolt 5 launchers, backed up by a pair of Snub-Nose PPCs. The armor of the -8Q is the same as the basic -7Q, as is the speed. However, where the -7Q uses single heat sinks the -8Q uses updated double heat sinks to attempt to control the mech's waste heat though 10 of them are sadly inadequate for the task.

Description

For centuries the Longbow has served Inner Sphere armies and so it was also with the Sanctuary Worlds. Eventually someone raised the idea of a point-blank speedy brawler and the LGB-9D was born. Armed with almost exclusively DRM missiles, 36 of them in fact, the -9D is capable of annihilating anything it can catch with its 340-rated fusion engine. A Small Electro-Laser in the head provides ammunition free firepower, technically. 17 DHS keep it cold while 6 tons of SHIELD-protected ammo give moderate endurance.

Description

While the Longbow was typically used as a missile support mech, there were attempts in the Sanctuary Worlds to use its plentiful weapon bays and spare tonnage for alternative weapon loads, leading to mechs like the LGB-9E. Armed with exclusively energy weapons, the -9E proved an adept long-range fire-support design. Using a Gamma Cannon to provide primary firepower and a pair of NPCs backing it up at range while a Large Modal Laser and Medium Modal Laser play at close range, the -9E is dangerous against anything. 14 DHS are joined by 7 Heat Controllers for cooling. A Sanctuary XL along with Ferro-Fibrous and Endo-Steel provide the free tonnage for everything.

Description

For centuries the Longbow has served Inner Sphere armies and so it was also with the Sanctuary Worlds. The idea was simple: strap as many VRMs as possible to a Longbow and point at enemy. That number ended up being 60 tubes, with a pair each of VRM-24s and VRM-6s for firepower. Twin Medium Electro-Lasers make a paltry attempt at close-range defense. With the rest of the mech as heat sinks and ammo, the Longbow LGB-9Q serves as simple, effective, fire-support for Sanctuary armies.

Description

The venerable Longbow has seen its fair share of refits and rebuilds over the centuries. One of the most successful is the LGB-10C. Taking a decidedly traditional approach, the -10C carries the standard twin LRM-20s and LRM-5s but upgrades them with Artemis IV. For close-range defense, it carries four ER Medium Lasers. Plenty of CASE'd ammunition keeps it in the fight and 16 DHS keep the missiles well cooled, even in heated firefights.

Description

After the Sirocco Artillery System was developed, the Sanctuary Worlds armies needed a platform for it and eventually settled on the Longbow's cavernous arms to hold the system. The LGB-10S is armed with twin Siroccos, allowing it to blanket any target in a rain of artillery missiles. 3 tons of ammunition per weapon ensures deep bins and plentiful ammo types. Up close, two Large Electro-Lasers provide defense. 16 DHS are sufficient for either the Siroccos or the lasers, but not both, meaning pilots need to be cautious with the trigger.

Description

A recent upgrade of the Longbow, the 12C variant is designed to maximize the 'Mech's fire support capabilities. The 'Mech has two LRM-20 launchers and two LRM-15 launchers, giving it an incredible bombardment capability and is capable of firing 40% more missiles down range than the base model. The 'Mech has three ER Small Lasers for close combat. The 12C variant is capable of doing this through the use of an XL engine that saves a great deal of weight.

Description

An unorthodox upgrade to the classic Longbow, the Longbow -13NAIS replaces all of the missile launchers with 6 Light Autocannon/5s, provided with 7 tons of ammunition and backed by two leg mounted ER Medium Lasers, a torso mounted ER Small Laser and a pair of B-Pods. A Guardian ECM Suite rounds off the 'Mech's equipment.
