Description

The Atlas A is an unusual design. It trades out the more concentrated damage of the AC20 for a scattershot approach of using five SRM6s. The 'Mech still retains an Autocannon, but it has been reduced to an AC5. Rounding off its compliment, the AS7-A mounts a Medium Laser in each arm, and downgrades the missile launcher to a LRM10.

Description

The Boar's Head is nominally based on the Atlas once piloted by Wolf's Dragoons Captain Danielle Rondema but has seen significant changes from that Succession Wars-era design. The guiding principle of The Boar's Head is apparently that speed is what Atlases should be known for, thus the enormous XL 400-rated engine. To capitalize on this speed, the 'Mech also uses a battery of 6 arm mounted Medium Pulse Lasers. An AC/10 and LRM-10 are the only concessions to ranged combat. The Boar's Head proved an able and dangerous arena combatant with a dedicated fan following.

Description

Introduced in 3050 as a fork of the successful AS7-K, the AS7-C is nearly identical to the -K, only dropping one Medium Pulse Laser for an extra heat sink and, most importantly, a C3 Slave unit in the head to help share targeting data with the rest of its lance. Otherwise, the -C is the same as the -K.

Description

Introduced in 3050 as a fork of the successful AS7-K, the AS7-CM is similar to the AS7-K. However, where the -K mounts twin ER Large Lasers in the arms, the -CM instead drops one of the lasers in order to carry a C3 Master unit for maximum lance coordination efforts. With the saved tonnage from the ER Large Laser's removal, the -CM also mounts two more heat sinks, helping with the mech's extensive heat generation.

The Atlas D is the king of the battlefield, capable of bringing a dizzying array of weapons to bear on targets at any range. It is also noteworthy for normally mounting the maximum amount of armor possible. Few opponents can survive even brief contact with this monster.

Built in 2776, this Atlas variant is the largest 'Mech equipped with a Command Console. To free up the weight required to fit this device, the AS7-D-DC removes one ton of LRM ammunition and the paired rear firing lasers. Effective at Close and Long Range Fire Support. Recommended for use by Experienced Tactical Commanders. Extremely rare and largely Extinct.

First fielded in 2765, the Atlas II was designed by the Hegemony Research and Development Department, Weapons Division of the original Star League to maintain the technological edge over the other Great Houses. It was exclusively for the SLDF's Royal Regiments. The Atlas II is armed with an array of weaponry, including an LB-X Autocannon/10, a pair of ER Large Lasers, and a 20-tube Long Range Missile Launcher for long range attacks. For close range combat, the 'Mech is equipped with a pair of Medium Pulse Lasers and a Holly Six Pack.

Description

Found by Lady Kamea Arano in a Star League cache, this Atlas II was apparently modified by its original owner during the Amaris Civil War. Why it was abandoned is unclear since all other Atlas IIs went with General Kerensky on the Exodus. This Atlas II switches the LB-10X and ER Large Lasers of the stock Atlas II for a pair of Ultra Autocannon/5s, giving it much better ranged firepower. It carries the same SRM, LRM, and Medium Pulse Lasers, though it adds a third laser, of the original, as well as the same armor.

Special Note: The Atlas AS7-D-MA is a custom Community Content 'Mech.

Description

This Atlas II is a unique and unusual chassis. It is not armed like other Atlases, instead having a heavy focus on ballistic autocannons and energy weapons with only light missile support. However, the main attraction is the so-called 'Alpha Strike' circuitry system, which allows for a boost to weapon damage and accuracy while the mech is significantly overheated. The weaponry on the Atlas AS7-D-MA is relatively regular: twin AC/10s, LAC/5s, and Clan LRM-5s are joined by a quartet of Medium Pulse Lasers, making the AS7-D-MA dangerous at medium to short ranges.

Description

A Combine upgrade of the Atlas that used rediscovered Star League technology, the K model was built with a XL Engine. Carrying a LRM-20 with two tons of ammo, the 'Mech was rearmed for long range combat with a Gauss Rifle in place of the autocannon, backed up by a pair of ER Large Lasers split between both arms. For close range defense, the K model carried two Medium Pulse Lasers in the center torso and a Anti-Missile System. To round off the AS7-K's defense, CASE was added to the side torsos to protect against an ammunition explosion.

Description

A Combine upgrade of the Atlas that used rediscovered Star League technology, the K model was built with a XL Engine. Carrying a LRM-20 with two tons of ammo, the 'Mech was rearmed for long range combat with a Gauss Rifle in place of the autocannon, backed up by a pair of ER Large Lasers split between both arms. For close range defense, the K model carried two Medium Pulse Lasers in the center torso and a Anti-Missile System. To round off the AS7-K's defense, CASE was added to the side torsos to protect against an ammunition explosion. The AS7-K-DC drops one Medium Pulse Laser and a ton of LRM ammo to add a Command Console to the head, for maximum battlefield coordination.

Description

A variant designed to fully realize the Atlas's reputation as an incredibly deadly mech in close quarters, the AS7-R takes knife-fighting to a new level. Carrying a powerful Ultra Autocannon/20, a pair of Streak SRM-6s, and a quartet of Medium Pulse Lasers, there is nothing that the AS7-R can't decimate at short range. However, the design runs very hot, has limited ammunition, and has no long-range weaponry, meaning it leans heavily on support to excel.

Description

The S2 Atlas was a major upgrade of the design by the Lyran Alliance coming out of the Hesperus II facility in 3061. The 'Mech was built with a Light Fusion Engine and carried an Artemis IV Fire Control System enhanced LRM-15 launcher and two ER Large Lasers as its primary long range weapons. For close combat, the 'Mech was armed with a Heavy Gauss Rifle. The S2 mounted a Guardian ECM Suite in place of the AMS to protect against enemy electronic warfare equipment.

Description

A Clan-tech retrofit of the AS7-D Atlas, the Atlas C replaced the older autocannon and missile launchers with a Clan standard Ultra AC/20, Swarm LRM compatible LRM-20, and Streak SRM-6 launchers; but the Inner Sphere Medium Lasers remained unchanged. Lighter Clan components allowed the Atlas C to carry 3 tons of autocannon ammunition.

    A thorough Clantech rebuild of the venerable Atlas, the Atlas C 2 is made entirely of Clan-grade components and technologies, making it an extremely formidable opponent on the battlefield. Armed with a LB-20X Autocannon as well as a Streak SRM-6 and twin Medium Pulse Lasers for close range, the AS7 C 2 can decimate anything up close. At range, it can call upon an ER PPC and twin ER Large Lasers, though the pilot must be mindful of their heat management, lest the 20 DHS be overwhelmed.

        Description

        Made to show off the largest weapons available to the Lyran Commonwealth at the time, the AS8-S is a brutal death machine if it hits the target. It has a deceptively simple loadout: an Ultra Autocannon/20 and a pair of gigantic Thunderbolt-20 launchers. The mech has limited ammunition for the weapons but often doesn't need all of its ammo to flatten its opponents. To get the weight for these weapons, a Light Fusion Engine and Endo-Steel are used. The AS8-S was not a battlefield success, but did find acceptance in arena fights where the limited ammo was acceptable.
